    Additional Notes
The HCP development process involves four technical committees and one oversight planning committee. At present, progress on the Montana DNRC HCP has been gradually moving forward. Draft conservation strategies have largely been completed for the 5 covered species (grizzly bear, lynx, bull trout, westslope cutthroat trout, and redband trout) and near completion are the draft EIS alternatives. The consultant has begun conducting technical analyses and preparing HCP/EIS documentation. A new FWS project manager is expected to be hired in the near future. Anticipated permit issuance is summer 2008.
