    Additional Notes
The BCP (formerly known as the BCCP) is a preserve protection species for 2 endangered birds, 6 endangered karst invertebrates, and 28 other species of concern. A BCP Coordinating Committee manages implementation of the permit's terms and conditions. The BCP Coordinating Committee also manages the land acquisition fund set up for purposes of habitat acquisition for the covered species. Preserve protections include 28,428 ac for GCW, 2,000 ac for BCV and 135 caves in Travis County. The citizens of Austin and Travis County consider bond issues on a regular basis for acquisition of preserve lands. In addition, citizens and corporations outside the proposed preserve boundaries have permit terms and conditions that mirror those of the BCP. Many individual landowners pay into the BCP Land Acquisition fund. Corporate permittees often acquire land within BCP boundaries as mitigation for their activities, and/or donate funds to the BCP or local non-profit land management organizations, or set up conservation easements or other tools for perpetual care of preserve lands.
