    Monitoring Notes
Service staff assisted Stimson in the initial implementation efforts of this HCP. Compliance monitoring by the Service was done in 2005 on HCP lands in the upper Clark Fork area and on Kootenai area lands, and findings showed implementation seemed to be going well. Stimson has a significant amount of grazing leases in the Upper Clark Fork unit, which is new to the company.
    Additional Notes
Stimson purchased the Kootenai HCP lands from Plum Creek in 2003 and made another purchase of Plum Creek lands in the upper Clark Fork area in 2004. These two land transactions with Plum Creek involved Stimson acquiring Plum Creek HCP covered lands and Stimson requesting permit coverage under agreement they would comply with the terms of the Plum Creek HCP. The 2003 lands transaction resulted in the original permit transfer and Stimson being issued a separate permit. The second land transaction in 2004 resulted in amending Stimson´┐Żs permit issued in 2003 to add the upper Clark Forks lands. Stimson has provided annual monitoring information of their HCP following Plum Creek's reporting cycle and reporting content. Implementation appears to be going well.
