    Incidental take of Stephens kangaroo rat is expected to occur as a result of groundwater and soils contaminant investigation activities required by a consent order. The results of these investigations would be used to determine appropriate methods of remediation of contaminated areas. Contaminant remediation would not be covered by this HCP but would be addressed separately in the future through the appropriate regulatory process.
