Scotts Valley High School Ecological Reserve, and Salvation Army land occurrences have not been observed in several years. Only the Scotts Valley HS location has a final conservation easement. For Scotts Vally spineflower, the species persists as four occurrences on four properties: Polo Ranch, Scotts Valley High School land, Glenwood Open Space Preserve and Salvation Army land. The species is conserved by easment within the Glenwood Open Space Preserve and Scotts Valley High School land. A portion of land owned by salvation army would be suitable for a conservation easement for both current SV spineflower populations, potential future reintroduction of SV polygonum, and possible some insect taxa. Ben lomond spineflower and Ben lomond wallflower are both found within easements at Ben Lomond ecological reserve and the Quail Hollow mitigation bank. There is ample opportunity for conservation easements on currently private property with suitable habitat for multiple sandhills taxa.

This is an unpublished report in draft form as of 8/5/11. In 2016, adaptive management is being used for Scotts Valley polygunum and Scotts Valley spineflower on the Scotts Valley High School Preserve. There is little to no management on the Polo Ranch, and no management on the Salavation Army land. In 2019 a management plan for Polo Ranch is still indevelopment.
