In 2011 the Puerto Rico Department of Natural and Environmental Resources began a Section 6 project to monitor existing known population of several listed plant species, including Cordia bellonis. However, populations of C. bellonis were not monitored during 2011-August, 2012. The project is ongoing and C. bellonis will be monitored in the near future.
Nevertheless, the USFWS has monitored and surveyed the known C. bellonis populations at the Maricao Commonwealth Forest. |
