Monitoring is ongoing. Captive propagated clubshells were released in the Green River Kentucky in 2008 to augment an existing population. Pilot northern riffleshell studies have been initiated in the Licking River, Kentucky and the Vermillion River, Illinois. A pilot will start in 2012 in the Elk River, West Virginia. Relocations are ongoing in 2012 from Pennsylvania to Darby Creek, Ohio and the Vermillion River.
