TealData.RData metadata. Thompson, J. M., T. V. Riecke, B. L. Daniels, K. S. Spragens, M. L. Gabrielson, C. A. Nicolai, and B. S. Sedinger. 2022. Survival and mortality of American green-winged teal banded on the Yukon-Kuskokwim Delta, Alaska. Journal of Wildlife Management. Data were derived from releases and recoveries of American green-winged teal banded at Kgun Lake, Alaska by Yukon Delta National Wildlife Refuge staff from 1997 - 2019, obtained from the USGS Bird Banding Laboratory. The RData file includes m-arrays for each age- and sex- class, vectors of numbers of birds released of each age- and sex- class, and data frames with parameters for informative priors on band reporting probabities and survival probabilities. R code to fit models from Thompson et al. (2022) using data provided is included. Below are descriptions of the objects included in the TealData.RData: array.af: m-array for adult females. array.am: m-array for adult males. array.jf: m-array for juvenile females. array.jm: m-array for juvenile males. rel.af: vector of the numbers of adult females banded and released each year. rel.am: vector of the numbers of adult males banded and released each year. rel.jf: vector of the numbers of juvenile females banded and released each year. rel.jm: vector of the numbers of juvenile males banded and released each year. rr: data frame with means (rr) and standard deviations (sd) of posterior distributions for annual band reporting probabilities from Arnold et al. (2020). Moments of a beta distribution (alpha and beta) were calculated using moment matching for inclusion as prior distributions. surv.priors: data frame with estimates of survival probability (means) of American green-winged teal from Teal Harvest Potential Working Group (2013) and associated standard errors (se) for each age- and sex- class. Moments of a beta distribution (alpha and beta) were calculated using moment matching for inclusion as prior distributions.
