Area Description Information

Location The area to be addressed under this CCAA (covered lands) is 170 acres of land, including 6,909 linear feet along both banks of the Deschutes River, upstream and downstream of the Colorado Street Bridge, in the city of Bend, Deschutes County, Oregon.
Habitat Portions of covered lands including Casting Pond, Les Schwab Amphitheater (LSA) Marsh, & riparian habitat on banks of Deschutes River are currently occupied by Oregon spotted frogs. Casting Pond is man-made structure bio-swale/pond 4"-20" deep, for storm water runoff, & year-round water level maintained/supplemented by ground water pumping, vegetated with cattails. LSA Marsh on west bank of Deschutes River & vegetated with cattails. Riverine & riparian zone habitat is 6,909 linear feet of river bank adjacent to Deschutes River; zone is fenced to limit human access & protect native vegetation.
