Salvage of many 1000s of pupfish was done to facilitate the restoration. Speckled dace are now widespread in the northern portion of the refuge, and spring flows are more naturally aligned than the have otherwise been since the 1960s/1970s.

Point of Rocks Refugium is now abandoned and alternatives are being sought. A new refugium has been constructed near School Springs and adaptive management is underway there now to establish robust purebred populations of DHP. Hoover Dam Refuge was invaded by an exotic snail that prevented recruitment by Devils Hole pupfish. Pupfish were transfered to Willow Beach National Fish Hatchery and Shark Reef Aquarium. There are no plans to reestablish pure Devils Hole pupfish at Hoover Dam due to the threat from exotic snails. A new refuge near School Springs (Ash Meadows Fish Conservation Facility) began to acquire DHPupfish eggs in 2013 and is working on DHPupfish husbandry issues now. 3433-1 Commissioning of Ash Meadows Fish Conservation Facility is essentially complete and biota are currently on site, though not Devils Hole pupfish (yet). Ongoing Current 2007 2013 Labor type not yet selected Work type not yet selected Construction of the new facility is nearly compete. Commissioning and programming of the facility is currently underway.
