OPRD is monitoring their Cook's lomatium occupied habitat. Other populations for these species are biennially monitored.

The Institute for Applied Ecology completed a study evaluating the results from vegetation, fire, and herbicide management for two sub-populations of Cook's lomatium in the Illinois Valley on BLM lands. Similar studies may continue as lands are managed to better understand the management complexities of the species.

As a compensatory mitigation action, private company will need to successfully construct restoration tasks to get mitigation credit. After seeding the property with Cook's lomatium and woolly meadowfoam the populations are stable. The Service is not aware of any new attempts to restore vernal pool habitat for mitigation or banking credit.
