Seventy percent are clubshell or northern riffleshell. These have been relocated to multiple sites in New York (including the Seneca Reservation), West Virginia, Ohio, Kentucky, and Indiana within the historic range of both species to met this recovery goal. A northern riffleshell augmentation is ongoing in Big Darby Creek in coordination with OSU and the Columbus Zoo. 1800 adult northern riffleshells were distributed in six sites. Monitoring is ongoing. Captive propagated clubshells were released in the Green River Kentucky in 2008 to augment an existing population. Pilot northern riffleshell studies have been initiated in the Licking River, Kentucky and the Vermillion River, Illinois. A pilot will start in 2012 in the Elk River, West Virginia. Relocations are ongoing in 2012 from Pennsylvania to Darby Creek, Ohio and the Vermillion River.
